MIPRO 2010 Opened 
Demonstration of wireless transmission at record high rate of 42 MbpS

MIPRO -International convention for information and communication technologies, electronics and microelectronics was opened in Opatija on Wednesday May, 26 - MIPRO 2010, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, DSc Ivo Josipović. The convention work started on Monday 24 and will end on Friday May 28. Some 1,000 participants from 30 countries will be present with works from ICT segment of various issues related to the economy, education, science, large systems and government administration and the local administration too.


During the formal opening there was the first run demonstration of a wireless data transmission at the record high rate of 42 Mbps. The MIPRO audience was presented this exceptional achievement by MSc Gordana Kovačević, the president of Ericssona Nikola Tesla and Mladen Pejković, Vipnet CEO, CTO.

The first presentation in the world of the highest rate achieved of up to 42 Mbit/s in commercial products was made by Ericsson at the end of last year in Stockholm, and this is the first time this technology was demonstrated in this part of Europe. In the world, where time becomes one of the most important resources, this innovative solution provides the users with instant access to wished contents”, stated MSc. Gordana Kovačević, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

 

MIPRO, the international convention in expertise and education, is the largest and the longest lasting and as concerns structure the most complex international event not only in Croatia but in this part of Europe.  It attracts participants from all over the world. As it was the case with all events by now, MIPRO 2010 will be the place where science, education and economy are interpenetrating. The participants will have opportunities to attend a number of counseling, round tables, workshops and seminars.

 

With eleven counseling/conferences, three round tables on current technological and social topics, two specialized workshops, three seminars of continuous education, with ICT industry exhibition and a number of supporting events, MIPRO offers to its participants a vast scope of current topics, as well as it is the central place for communication of ICT specialists from this part of Europe. „Key terms of this MIPRO convention are nanotechnology, e-sustainability, digital TV, regulatory frame for EU admission, communications, networking, management and education “, added Prof Petar Biljanović, DSC, the president of the international program committee for MIPRO 2010.
