At a ceremony held in Dverce on St. Catharine’s Square on 31st May 2005 the company received the highest award of the City of Zagreb for its business performance in 2004. Vlasta Pavić, the Mayor of Zagreb, handed over the award to Gordana Kovačević, the president of the company.
This is the fifth time for our company to obtain this major award of the Zagreb City. The Award for 2004 was given to Ericsson Nikola Tesla on the occasion of its 55th anniversary for outstanding business results throughout many years, considering the company's status of major exporter, its transformation into a modern company, the significance and role the company has in Croatia, and its reputation in the Ericsson Group and among its business partners.
The company is active in the communication-information branch of industry that is vital for the development of global economy. The company is both in Croatia and in a broader region a role model of a modern leading company that produces knowledge and operates in accordance with global standards under the criteria of cost efficiency. Ericsson Nikola Tesla has for many years successfully conducted business and it ranks among top Croatian companies. In the last decade ETK was among the best performing companies in Croatia and for the last two years it has been the third major Croatian exporter. The export, including the knowledge export, accounts for 80 percent of its total sales. The company continuously invests into competence development of employees and into raising employees' satisfaction. The company has been recognized as an expert center in the Ericsson Group, and has special responsibilities in the region Europe, Middle East and Africa. According to obtained responsibilities or through corporate projects ETK is present in many countries on all continents. The company acquired for Croatia highly valued and attractive business in telecommunications and thus retained talented domestic specialists in the country, and at the same time opened the door for them to global knowledge. Ericsson Nikola Tesla actively contributes to the creation of a new economy in Croatia.
Great attention is paid to quality management in all business processes and ETK is the first company both in Croatia and in the Ericsson Group and one among a very few in Europe who obtained the certificate Recognized for Excellence issued by the European Foundation for Quality Management, EFQM, in Brussels. Ericsson Nikola Tesla holds a number of other certificates as well as other awards for outstanding business performance.
