Fourth quarter of 2005

[08.12.2005.] The conference Corporate Reputation held on December 7, 2005. in the Hotel Westin in Zagreb, the first gathering of experts and stakeholders in the sphere of business reputation, featured the Award «Business Reputation 2005», handed out to most prominent Croatian companies in eight categories. Ericsson Nikola Tesla won first positions in two categories and in three of them the company ranked second.

[06.12.2005.] TechnologyE, a practical, clear and concise presentation of the cutting edge communications solutions and services provided by Ericsson Nikola Tesla was organized on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, on the company's premises. This event was visited not only by representatives of the company’s partners and customers, but also by relevant officials coming from local and regional business, social, political and media environment.

[23.11.2005.] Late in November Ericsson Nikola Tesla and BH Telecom, the major national operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed three contracts, together worth roughly 2,5 million euros. These contracts shall considerably broaden and improve the communication among mobile and fixed network users in the BH Telecom networks.

[12.11.2005.] INFO 2005, 37th International Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media Fair was held on November 8-12. Ericsson Nikola Tesla obtained the Best Design Award, consisting of the certificate and the cut-glass sculpture, for the outstanding design of the exhibition stand and the best design concept.

[03.11.2005.] On Wednesday, November 2, 2005 our company organized a Capital Markets Day to stress the importance devoted to building of top quality and open communication with investors, as well as to strengthening of partnership with them.

[27.10.2005.] Ericsson has been named the technology "supersector leader" on the pan-European Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes STOXX listing. The latest annual review of corporate social responsibility (CSR) leadership by Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), includes Ericsson in both the global DJSI World and the pan-European DJSI STOXX rankings.

[24.10.2005.] The results achieved over the first nine months this year show that the company has continued its successful operations.

[20 .10.2005.] Chinese operators Guangdong Mobile and Guangxi Mobile have selected Ericsson to expand their respective GSM networks. The contracts are collectively valued at close to USD 290 million.

[14.10.2005.] "Breakfast with Ericsson", a tradition at the Enterprise Systems of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, took place at the Sheraton Hotel Zagreb on 14th October with over 130 participants. The topic of the conference was MX-ONE™, an IP based exchange representing a further step in the evolution of enterprise systems.

[05.10.2005.] On October 4th Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, signed the Code of Business Ethics. In May 2005 the Assembly of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce adopted this document and advised all its members to sign it.  This document provides an outline of ethical conduct to be applied by all subjects in the Croatian economy.

Third quarter of 2005

[26.09.2005.] Ericsson Nikola Tesla and the Croatian Railways, the state-owned enterprise for passenger and goods transport in national and international traffic, signed a few days ago two contracts related to the modernization and extension of business communication network of the Croatian Railways, worth ca. 27 million HRK.

[26.09.2005.] Ericsson Nikola Tesla, supplier of cutting-edge telecom equipment and total solutions, and HT – Hrvatske Telekomunikacije, telecom services provider, signed a significant agreement to serve the needs of T-Com, leading supplier of services in fixed telephony in the Republic of Croatia. 

[13.09.2005.] In the big fire which broke out on September 10, 2005 at one of Zagreb warehouses at Jankomir owned by the company Trius, among other things damaged by the fire there was a part of Ericsson's equipment that was to be delivered to Ericsson Nikola Tesla's customers in the country and abroad.
[13.09.2005.] On Saturday, September the 10th we gathered again at the Jarun Lake for another Family Day of ETK. Two thousand seems to be a magic number as again that many people came together for the company's 56th anniversary.
[12.09.2005.] Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the leading Croatian exporter of advanced telecommunication solutions, is continuously being successful in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of its traditionally good export markets. In Grude, on September 8th, 2005 the company signed a contract with Eronet, one of three mobile operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina, worth 8,5 million euro.
[23.08.2005.] Croatian leading exporter of advanced telecommunications solutions Ericsson Nikola Tesla has been also very successful in its activities in the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On August 22, 2005 the company signed two contracts with the operator BH Telecom, its traditional business partner. The contracts exceeds the value of HRK 25 million.
[19.08.2005.] Ericsson has been selected by Greek wireline operator Vivodi Telecom to deliver 10,000 ADSL 2+ lines using Ericsson's Ethernet DSL Access solution, providing new broadband capabilities to Vivodi Telecom subscribers.
Ericsson and BB Mobile, a Softbank Group company, have demonstrated the first seamless handover of circuit-switched voice and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) based video services between 3G mobile and wireless local area networks (WLAN).
[20.07.2005.] Ericsson Nikola Tesla key performance indicators in the first half of 2005 were in compliance with plans and expectations. The Company's focus on customer partnerships as well as continuous operational efficiency improvement contributed to further growth of profitability.
[19.07.2005.] Croatian leading exporter of advanced telecommunications solutions, Ericsson Nikola Tesla has been very successful in its activities in the Belarus market in the first part of July this year. The company signed two contracts whose joint value exceeds HRK 200 million within both the wireline and wireless telecommunications segments.
[08.07.2005.] The press conference organized by ETK took place in Split and it presented to the public the activities of 140 young research and development engineers in ETK Split who work on communication software. This issue was addressed by Gordana Kovačević, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla and vice-president of Ericsson's Market Unit Central Europe.
Second quarter of 2005
[15.06.2005.] Ericsson, the world’s leading telecommunications supplier and Napster, the biggest brand in digital music, announced today a global partnership to offer the first complete, fully integrated digital music service available for mobile operators.
[15.06.2005.] Ericsson will expand its WCDMA portfolio into new and existing frequency bands in readiness for mass-market uptake of mobile triple play and increased interest in WCDMA from new markets.
[10.06.2005.] Ericsson has been selected by TDC to provide Ericsson's IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solution. The solution will allow TDC to offer its fixed network customers various services including IP telephony and IP Centrex to business users.
[06.06.2005.] Ericsson has been selected by UK based broadband operator ntl as its IP DSLAM supplier to trial ADSL2+ DSL services, in order to explore the broadband capability of its on-net copper access network.
[02.06.2005.] MIPRO 2005, the international conference on information and communication technology, electronics and microelectronics, the 28th in succession, is taking place in Opatija from 30th May to 3rd June. Ericsson Nikola Tesla is a sponsor and co-organizer of the conference that is attended by experts and managers of the company.
[01.06.2005.] At a ceremony held in Dverce on St. Catharine’s Square on 31st May 2005 the company received the highest award of the City of Zagreb for its business performance in 2004.
[25.05.2005.] The award presentation ceremony of the contest for the best industrial share and investment fund in the Croatian capital market took place in the Regent Hotel Esplanade on 24th May 2005. Ericsson Nikola Tesla obtained the certificate of merit for the Best Industrial Share in 2004, Gordana Kovačević, the president of the company received this award.
[13.05.2005.] The General Assembly of Ericsson Nikola Tesla (ETK) was held on 12th May 2005. The Assembly was marked by the tenth anniversary of Ericsson's taking major shareholding in the company – the constituent assembly of then formed joint stock company Ericsson Nikola Tesla was held on 13th May 1995.
[11.05.2005.] Today Ericsson announced signing of the contract for the supply and implementation of infrastructure equipment, including ENGINE, DWDM, CDMA and SDH transmission network and 3200 kilometers of fiber-optical cable, for the complex multi-network project for Kazakhstan’s customer TOO TelecomNet. The Contract, valued at app. 60 million EURO, runs for 3 years and will be implemented in three phases.
[10.05.2005.] Ericsson Nikola Tesla (ETK) and the major Croatian Internet Service Provider and a new concessionary in fixed telephony, Vodatel, signed a technical and business cooperation agreement on 10th May 2005.
[05.05.2005.] The Corporate Governance denotes the framework and rules of conducting business and supervision in a company, with the objective to create a long-term economic value for shareholders. Ericsson Nikola Tesla follows the international trend and is among the forerunners in Croatia who adopted the principles of corporate governance as a constituent part of their operations.
[04.05.2005.] The Login@Europe 2005 is the annual elementary and high school contest in Croatia in the design of web pages with the content about the European Union. The contest has been organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations and CARnet. Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the sponsor to the Login@Europe contest, was also the host to the award presentation ceremony that took place on the company premises.
[29.04.2005.] Ericsson's Internet Payment eXchange (IPX) solution for content payment has attracted a strategic sale to Modern Times Group's (MTG) mobile content service, ZooMobile. MTG is the largest free-to-air and pay-TV broadcaster in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
Tele2, since recently the third mobile telephony operator in Croatia and Ericsson Nikola Tesla, supplier of communication equipment and solutions, have signed the agreement for the delivery of equipment and total communication solution for a GSM network in Croatia. That Ericsson Nikola Tesla was the choice as the major supplier of communication equipment and solutions is another proof of good cooperation between the business partners Tele 2 and Ericsson in the markets of many European countries.
[25.04.2005.] The mobile telephony operator Monet from Montenegro, since recently owned by Matav Hungary, continued its dynamic investment cycle in order to satisfy the needs of its subscribers with the newest GSM network solutions. On April 20, 2005 they signed a large contract with Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the Croatian supplier of communication equipment and solutions.
[15.04.2005.] In 2005 ETK's monthly «Komunikacije» celebrates its 40th birthday. The paper is among a few company newspapers and bulletins in Croatia with such a long and continuous publishing record. We celebrated this anniversary on company premises on Friday, 15th April.
[07.04.2005.] This year's presentation of new Ericsson' solutions in the area of Enterprise took place at Cinestar Zagreb. The story of the evolution of enterprise in the form of a talk show, supported by attractive video material brought impressive possibilities of new products closer to the audience. These new products enable various organizations to have permanent connectivity and access to corporate data independently of current location of employees and also better-cost efficiency.
First quarter of 2005
[23.03.2005.] TeliaSonera in Denmark has selected Ericsson to deliver its Ethernet DSL Access solution, providing new broadband capabilities to the TeliaSonera subscribers. Under the sole supplier contract, Ericsson is providing its Ethernet DSL Access solution and related services. Deliveries have already started.
[17.03.2005.] Ericsson and Norwegian based Maritime Communications Partner (MCP), have signed a contract for the delivery of a GSM network to enable mobile communication at sea. Under the contract, Ericsson will supply a complete network solution, including core and radio equipment.
[28.02.2005.] On Monday, 28 February 2005 a press conference took place at Ericsson Nikola Tesla in which business results 2004 and outlook for 2005 were presented to the public.
[26.02.2005.] After six years as the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Åke Enell ceased to head the company on January 1, 2005 and decided to face new challenges. Wishing to express his sincere gratitude to business partners and friends from Croatia and abroad for their co-operation and support throughout all these years, he invited to a farewell party organized in his honor on February 25.
[14.02.2005.] On Feb 8, 2005 Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Hewlett-Packard signed a contract according to which HP shall deliver to the leading Croatian and regional supplier of telecom systems and solutions a "Total infrastructural solution for printout management".
[10.02.2005.] Ericsson presents its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2004 and full year numbers. Key indicators of the Ericsson operation confirm that Ericsson has strengthened its position of the leading global supplier of modern communication systems, services and solutions.
[01.02.2005.] Ericsson and T-Mobile Hungary, the largest mobile operator in the country, has signed a contract to build a 3G (UMTS) network in Hungary. T-Mobile will be able to offer its subscribers advanced multimedia 3G services.
[27.01.2005.] Ericsson has signed an exclusive managed services contract with H3G Italy of the Hutchison Whampoa Group. Under the agreement, Ericsson will be responsible for the overall management of H3G Italy's 3G network.
[19.01.2005.] T-Mobile Germany, the mobile branch of Deutsche Telekom in Germany and one of the largest leading mobile operators in the world, has selected Ericsson as the supplier and integrator for the replacement of 10,000 of T-Mobile's existing GSM radio base stations.
[10.01.2005.] Ericsson has been selected by Chunghwa Telecom to provide indoor coverage to the world's tallest building, Taipei 101. Ericsson's in-building solutions will enable Taipei 101 visitors to enjoy high-quality, seamless coverage, across 2G and 3G networks for both GSM/WCDMA and CDMA.
[01.01.2005.] Effective January 1, 2005 Gordana Kovačević is appointed as new president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla. Gordana Kovačević is renown both in Croatia and the Ericsson Group as an exceptional leader who was many times awarded for her achievements as successful manager.
