On Saturday, September the 10th we gathered again at the Jarun Lake for another Family Day of ETK. Two thousand seems to be a magic number as again that many people came together for the company's 56th anniversary. The Registration Service reported the number of four hundred active employees including the colleagues from ETK Split, some four hundred retired employees and the rest were the members of our families.

The «Master of Ceremonies» was Duško Ćurlić, the well-known TV show host. It was a day of fun and we enjoyed the traditional tasty food (beans and sausages) and participated in a series of sports events and entertainment activities.

Tournaments were organized in soccer, chess (simultaneous and lightning), card playing, basketball (teams of three players shooting three-point shots), swing bowling and table tennis. The traditional cross-country run took place and we also played five-a-side soccer and badminton.

As far as music is concerned, the performance of the singers Branko Požgajec, Zdenka Kovačiček and Srđan Jug accompanied by the Telephone Blues Band was well accepted and we all sang and danced to the music of the popular music band «Gazde».

This year's Talents Show, the competition of ETK employees in modern sports and dance choreography, in playing the music and singing attracted all attention. The underlying idea was that we always entertain ourselves best and that our employees should present their «hidden» talents. The jury consisting of ETK representatives and popular RTL Television hostesses proclaimed the winners –the Body & Mind training participants and Tajana Belina, an excellent vocalist.

The workshops of the Friends of the Environment and Children's Corner, designed primarily for the youngest, were quite alike the Zagreb Fair on a small scale. The EKO Center Javorove livade presented traditional healthy food; the Lush company exhibited their herbal skin care creams and herbal face packs. The visitors could see the thematic photographic exhibitions prepared by the ETK Art Photography Section (the «Green Cities») and by the ETK Hiking and Climbing Section (photos from various mountaineering tours).

The youngest visitors had fun with the children's school of acrobatics and juggling and with temporary tattoos and face painting. The group "Tricot" presented their circus-theatrical performance «Wish for the World» and encouraged the children to give their imagination a full swing and to paint pictures related to that topic. The best works shall be selected for the Christmas and New Year's greeting cards of the Company.

The Health Protection corner was invaded by a great number of those interested in the measurement of blood pressure and body mass index and in getting medical advice.

The entertainment included bingo with a wide assortment of prizes. The business partners of ETK were generous with contributions so that this year we have collected and given out some 900 prizes. Valuable prizes - gifts from our sponsors and the chief award – mobile phone Sony Ericsson P910i donated by our company - were “drawn” on personal computer, »live» on stage, based on random selection from the pool of active ETK employees present at the event. The president of the company, Gordana Kovačević, handed over the chief award to the lucky winner Jovanka Vučen Milić.

The Family Day of ETK provided also the opportunity to proclaim the best individual players who will join the team in five-a-side soccer at the Corporate Games in Zagreb.

During the ETK Family Day the RTL Television made a special report for their telecast "Explosiv".
