Ericsson Nikola Tesla – Social Responsible Company
Ericsson Nikola Tesla's donation to the Croatian Association of the Deaf-Blind "The Touch"

On the occasion of the International Day for People with Special Needs, Ericsson Nikola Tesla made a donation of 20,000.00 HRK to help the Croatian Association of Deaf-Blind Persons "The Touch", the only association of the kind in the country, in their battle for more dignity in life. For eleven years this association has been engaged in the education, rehabilitation and work therapy projects for children and adults with vision and hearing losses.

At the company's gallery, an exhibition and a sale of paintings, ceramic sculptures and articles from the tailor's shop were opened. The specific quality of this exhibition is that all the exhibits were created by authors living in their own world of silence and almost complete darkness, who can understand the world only with the help of their palms facing away and wide open.

At the ceremony held on Nov 29th 2006 in an atmosphere full of warmth and charged with emotion, the ETK president Gordana Kovačević handed over the donation certificate to Sanja Tarczay, the "Touch" president. Gordana Kovačević emphasized: "As a socially responsible entrepreneur the company Ericsson Nikola Tesla wishes to sensitize the public to the problems that people with special needs encounter in their everyday life, because, as Helen Keller said: Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

Many employees, the guests from "The Touch" association together with their interpreters and several media representatives attended the opening ceremony. Immediately after the opening ETK employees bought up almost half of the exhibited items.
