The MPOWER project successfully passed the first review by the European Commission participating with more than 60 percent in the total project budget of 3,9 MEUR. Independent reviewers were highly satisfied with the project's progress and with deadlines met; for this Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the Croatian company and the biggest partner from the industry sector in the mentioned project deserves credit.
It is about the system integration in e-health area, to be precise, about creating an ICT platform to support the smart house (concept) intended for the elderly and people with cognitive disorders.
The Norwegian SINTEF institute conducts the project that involves the leading research centers, universities and technology leaders from 6 European countries. Ericsson Nikola Tesla got the opportunity to participate in the MPOWER project due to its internationally recognized competence in research and development field, system integration and e-health. Accordingly, their primary task is to interconnect local systems that collect user/patient data into advanced systems and to integrate business and user ICT architectures and technologies. Owing to its results until now and to the knowledge of its specialists Ericsson Nikola Tesla participates in the business and economic developments in the EU.
By financing this project the European Commission endeavors to increase the competitiveness of the European software industry and to develop ICT technologies intended for a growing special users group. It is expected that the project should be completed within 30 months; the MPOWER platform itself is based on open standards and technologies that support specific, but interoperable solutions.
