In Split, in the hotel Le Meridien Lav, on 27th Sept the 15th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks was opened. The conference is organized by the Faculty of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB) under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, and the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development. The conference is technically sponsored/supported by IEEE Communications Society.
The attendants were researchers and experts from various industries, research institutes and universities from 30 countries and the conference proceedings include a large number of reports and presentations.
In the opening ceremony the Dean of FESB, Professor Dinko Begušić DSc addressed the guests. He emphasized the significance this international conference had gained over the last 15 years. He also expressed his great satisfaction with the fact the conference raised a great deal of interest present even outside the Republic of Croatia. Among the invited lecturers in the opening session was MSc Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla. She talked about how Ericsson Nikola Tesla perceives the role of information-communication technology in securing better quality of life for people today.
