At the Windays 2007 conference of 24th April dedicated to business and technology, a panel discussion entitled "ICT - Croatian competitiveness driver" was held. Panel participants were Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Ivica Mudrinić, president and CEO of T-HT, Miroslav Kovačić, state secretary in the Central State Office for e-Croatia, Slavko Krajcar, university professor (FER), Alojzije Jukić, general manager of Hewlett-Packard Croatia, Miroslav Radman, head of Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences; Davor Majetić, director of Microsoft Croatia moderated the discussion.

Panelists spoke mainly about using as much as possible modern information-communication technologies in everyday life and work. In that sense they discussed the principles and recommendations given by the National Council for Competitiveness who consider the ICT to be the driving force behind the competitive ability of all other industries. With full appreciation of this assignment, Gordana Kovačević called for a competitive ICT sector itself, with strong R&D and expert centers and sound trading results in domestic and global markets. A pre-requisite for this concept are qualified, creative and motivated employees whose innovative qualities are built into new products, solutions and services.  She also emphasized that with knowledge export we take active role in new technology trends from which all our citizen should benefit. She also substantiated this with examples from Ericsson Nikola Tesla as the Croatian major knowledge exporter.
