Awards to leading CSR companies
Ericsson Nikola Tesla among awarded companies

The Award Ceremony for the best CSR reporting companies was held at the Zagreb Fair; it was organized by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and held under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Croatia. Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. is among the awarded companies.

The CSR Index (Reporting) is a joint project of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) and the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development (HR PSOR); its ultimate goal was transparency of companies’ CSR performance.
The questionnaire had been sent to more than 1364 companies (500 best performing small, medium and large companies) and it was filled out on a voluntary basis. The questionnaire includes 119 questions covering all areas of corporate social responsibility, CSR, such as economic sustainability, engagement in CSR, policies and practices in the work environment, measures and tracking the environmental impact. An independent jury gave awards to the best CSR reporting companies after a careful evaluation of the filled-out questionnaires; the best ranked companies collected more than 75% of the credits and displayed a high level of CSR integration in their business practice.

Ericsson Nikola Tesla received the CSR INDEX Award for their positive practice toward all stakeholders; thus it represents a role model of a socially responsible company in Croatia.  When receiving the award Gordana Kovačević, ETK president emphasized her satisfaction with the company’s key performance indicators as they confirm the company’s stability and solid performance; the company also takes a comprehensive care of its employees, customers, partners, suppliers, the general public, shareholders and the broader community.

During the round table discussion, entitled “Corporate social responsibility and sustainable development in the Republic of Croatia”, participants shared experience and discussed the principles applied. Discussion participants were Sue Bird, EU representative, Leo Begović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Labor and Entrepreneurship, Gordana Kovačević, ETK president, Marko Štefan, Assistant Director of Hartmann d.o.o., Ivan Vidaković, representative of the National Council for Competitiveness, Dušica Radojčić, president of “Zelena Istra” (“Green Istria”) and Mario Švigir, senior analyst in the Association of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia.
