The Application Competition is designed to award the best IMS client-server application using Sun Project SailFin and Ericsson Service Development Studio. This is continuation of a collaboration agreement between Sun and Ericsson to develop an open source Java technology-based multimedia application server as well as a supporting program for the developer community.

Prizes will be awarded to those who submit the best entries. All entries will be judged by a panel of experts based on the following equally weighted judging criteria: Innovation height, future commercial potential, best IMS value add to existing service. In the event of a tie, the person among the tied entries with the highest score in future commercial potential will be declared the winner. Note that Employees of Sun Microsystems, Ericsson AB, their parent companies, affiliates and subsidiaries etc (see the Official Rules) are not allowed to participate. The grand prize winner will receive USD $5,000, and two second place winners will receive a Sony Ericsson W760 phone. This contest ends at on September 30, 2008 at 11:59 P.M. (PT) which is 6:59 A.M. (GMT) on October 1, 2008.
