Beside the traditional awards and recognition awards presented to students ("Josip Lončar", "Stanko Turk", "Roberto Giannini"), the Dean's Recognition Award and the Awards of the companies Ericsson Nikola Tesla, KONČAR, INETEC and Agrokor, for the first time the „Werner von Siemens“ Award and the Award for the Best FER Student’s Computing Program have been presented.
Ericsson Nikola Tesla traditionally awards the best student papers in the field of telecommunications. Marijana Đuzel, Director of Human Resources and Organization at Ericsson Nikola Tesla handed over the prizes to students.
Based on the expert opinion of the company's Award Commission the Ericsson Nikola Tesla Award 2008/2009 was presented to the following students of the Faculty for their respective papers dealing with telecom issues:
1st prize: Winners are Ivan Brešković, Vedrana Janković, Zvonimir Pavlinović and Željko Rumenjak for their paper entitled: „Multicore SIP“
2nd prize: Winners are Denis Tošić, Mislav Stipetić and Zoran Kalvarešin for their paper entitled: „CODOS – System for monitoring and remote management of cluster nodes“
3rd prize: Winners are Nenad Katanić and Teo Nenadić (for their paper entitled „Automatic generation of TTCN-3 scripts based on SIP call traces”) and Tomislav Haramustek (for his paper entitled: „Web Automation“)
