Careers and Job Fair at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, FER
Company's appearance at the Fair

The FER Students Association and KSET organized the traditional „Job Fair” in order to provide information to FER students about employment and career development opportunities.

The fair offered the opportunity for students and prospective employers to exchange information. The students got information about the trends in job markets and about the leading hi-tech and other companies and their needs for top quality, graduate workforce in high technology area. Employers were given the opportunity to present themselves to ambitious, young people who will soon start searching for attractive jobs.

Students met the representatives of Ericsson Nikola Tesla in the Grey Hall (at FER). In the introductory part Snježana Bahtijari, Communication Director explained the company profile.  She emphasized the fact that Ericsson Nikola Tesla, being a part of the globally present Ericsson Corporation, co-creates new communication trends; by doing so the company follows the concept of corporate social responsibility both in Croatia and in the countries of its operations.

The next speaker was Marijana Đuzel, Human Resources and Organization Director. She pointed out that intellectual capital is highly important for the company as its core product is knowledge. How to attract, develop and retain top specialists capable of accomplishing complex hi-tech tasks is the company's strategic goal. This year the company will continue its scholarship awarding scheme intended for the best students in the final semesters of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, FER and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, FESB. With this scheme the company endeavors to secure its future highly qualified workforce and to participate in creating a knowledge society, said Marijana Đuzel.

The students' interest in the company as a prospective employer was great so that the fifteen minutes planned for questions and answers were not enough.

The traditional knowledge contest for students took place and the company rewarded the quickest to give all-correct answers.
