ETK Specialists Take Part in BHTEL Activities 
BIHTEL 2010 – Outstanding appearance of Ericsson Nikola Tesla

The traditional International symposium on telecommunications - BIHTEL 2010, takes place from Nov. 22 to 24 in Sarajevo. The topic of the current symposium is ''System Aspects of QoS Control in Multi-system Environment''. The symposium was organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo, „IEEE Bosnia and Herzegovina“ and „IEEE Communications Chapter“.


During the opening ceremony of the symposium, the organizers paid special honor and asked Gordana Kovačević MSc, the president of the company, who was also the invited lecturer to give her lecture on “Innovative ICT Solutions – Driver of Society Development”. This exceptional honor was due to the long term cooperation with Ericsson Nikola Tesla on various projects of importance for this neighboring country.  In her addressing the audience, our company president, underlined the role and importance of good cooperation of all subjects responsible for the development and improvement of Bosnia and Herzegovina aiming to achieve the higher level of competitiveness in the global environment. She paid a special attention to the actual examples and presented Ericsson technological leadership, as well as the positive impact of innovative ICT solutions to the economic, social and ecological aspect of life. During the long term and successful cooperation of Ericsson Nikola Tesla and its customers many  strategic and partner relations have been set up resulting in numerous state of the art ICT solutions and services available to Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens. Along with the partnership with customers, the exchange of knowledge and positive practice with technical faculties was the reality in this country. As a socially responsible company, and as a leader in technology, with its activities and ways of working, we wish to provide availability of modern ICT solutions, thus contributing to the society development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.


On the first day of the symposium there was a round table titled “The Realization of Digital TV in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Moderators of this round table were Prof. dr. Branka Zovko Cihlar, The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computy, the University of Zagreb and Prof. dr. Branko Dokić, ETF of the University of Banja Luka. With the representatives of the academic society, electronic media and the Central Government Office for e-Croatia, the participants in the round table was also Hrvoje Strepački, a specialist from Ericsson Nikola Tesla.


Željko Popović is another specialist from Ericsson Nikola Tesla who participated in the symposium by presenting the paper: „Evolution of GPON system towards the next PON generation“.

 

Dragan Stanković, the specialist from Ericsson Nikola Tesla, addressed the audience with the topic "Convergent Payment in Mobile Telecom Networks", and the presentation by Snježana Brajko under the title "Network Transformation into Multimedia Telephone Network" was quite an outstanding one!
