Celebration of 50th FESB Anniversary 
Partnership for Growth and Development

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split celebrated this year is the 50th anniversary of its foundation. This respectable anniversary and the results of this high education institution was celebrated by the rich program that ended on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010. The numerous representatives of the social, economic and political life attended the celebration. Among them there were the representatives of Ericsson Nikola Tesla.


The dean of the Faculty, prof. Tomislav Kilić DSc, in his addressing the audience talked about the development, and especially underlined the partnership with Ericsson Nikola Tesla and awarded it a special recognition for the development of the given faculty in Split.
 

Gordana Kovaćević MSc, the president of the company, also addressed the audience at the celebration, by expressing congratulations for such an outstanding jubilee and thanks for the valuable recognition awarded to the company, and said:
“For quite a period of time the company has established a successful cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Split. Our cooperation has been developing to the benefit of both organizations and the society as a whole. Namely, by encouraging the education and extending help to the degree-granting educational institutions, Ericsson Nikola Tesla creates the preconditions not only for its future, but for the development of our society, as well. By its role of a leader in the Croatian economy, we pave the way for better life, higher productivity and efficiency of people, and in the FESB, we found the strong and valuable partner for the realization of common goals.  With that, we actively promote real values and the society of knowledge“.

Respecting knowledge of students, during this celebration, special recognitions were given to students studying at particular departments, for top results achieved. Being a sponsor of the event, our company awarded Luka Boban, the best student studying at the Electrical Engineering Department, with the average grade of 4.9., and on behalf of our company Gordana Kovačević handed him in a modern mobile telephone set.


It is important to mention that Ericsson Nikola Tesla started its activities in Split still in 1982 and just in FSBS premises. Today, the research and development center of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, working in Split has more than 260 specialists actively engaged in crating state-of-the art telecom trends in a world, which makes Split a recognizable point of a global ICT development.
