Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the regional ICT leader and supplier of state-of-the art information and communications products, solutions, software and services, and Hrvatski Telekom, the leading telecom services provider in Croatia, demonstrated today in live, for the first time in Croatia, the implemented  LTE trial network. The event was presented to the numerous pressmen audience in Hemingway, and a mobile reporter was in live at the entrance of the Ericsson Nikola Tesla and RTL.

During the demonstration the guests, who gathered there, had the opportunity to witness some of numerous services that may be realized with this most advanced technology in the mobile communications world.
Mobile reporter, 3D TV content transmission and wireless multiplayer gaming services were presented today by specialists from Hrvatski Telekom and Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

During the press conference statements were given by Ivica Mudrinić, the president of the management board and director general of Hrvatski Telekom and Gordana Kovačević, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

„Our users have recognized us for the outstanding quality of our network, and therefore I am especially proud of the fact that Hrvatski Telekom is the first operator in Croatia, who invested its funds in this advanced technology, that will offer our users the high quality experience of using all mobile telephony services. Ericsson Nikola Tesla is our long-term and appreciated partner, and I am extremely pleased that our cooperation has been extended by this joint first live demonstration of the implemented LTE trial network in Croatia. Thus, Croatia is among countries who are pioneers in the world to implement LTE trial network“, said Ivica Mudrinić, the president of the management board and director general of Hrvatski Telekom and added that this is a good example that telecom sector, due to knowledge and strategic decision, stepped to the higher level of development in Croatia.

Still in October last year, Ericsson Nikola Tesla was the first in Croatia to bring in Zagreb a truck on the world tour, where LTE was the first time shown in live, to our customers, partners and the public, as well.

A mobile reporter is an innovative TV service of new generation based on LTE technology. It enables TV content wireless transmission, directly in a simple and easy access mode, to the studio and viewers, with no preliminary leased satellite connections. This service means a strategic shift in a media industry, so it will require an out-of-the-box thinking, and new business approaches, in order to provide new mode of producing the professional TV program, by means of various devices, any place and time. 

Due to LTE transmission the majority viewers will be provided the top quality of technologically most demanding TV content, through wireless transmission. For example, for the transmission of 3D TV content, the double bandwidth capacity is required, then for the transmission of the same resolution content in the currently usual 2D technology. Therefore, LTE transmission of 3D TV content is a good example of network convergence and usage of top technologies to serve our citizens.
