New steps by Vipnet in introducing innovations

Collaboration between Vipnet and Ericsson Nikola Tesla and the application of state-of–the-art technology by Ericsson made Osijek the first town in Croatia having available the transmission  rate of 42 Mbit/s. In addition, at present, as many as 17 Croatian towns have been covered by HSPA+ technology, supplied by Ericsson Nikola Tesla. The given technology enables the web browsing at the rate of 21 Mbit/s that was demonstrated a year ago.

This year was characterized with the joint work of Vipnet and Ericsson Nikola Tesla on technological novelties. An illustration is the event in June in Opatija, where MIPRO (International gathering on information and communications technology) was held and where during the opening session wireless data transmission was demonstrated the record rates of up to 42 Mbit/s achieved. This was not only the first time for such rates in Croatia, but in this part of Europe too. At the beginning of October, and based on Ericsson solution, Vipnet was the first operator in Croatia, and among the pioneers in the world, to present HD sound technology, which, along with high rates of data transmission, is also a step forward in quality, as much as the end users are concerned.

Investments by Vipnet into network and the partnership with Ericsson Nikola Tesla proved profitable, and the quality of this operator network was confirmed by an independent measurement by the German company P3 Communications, which issued 4 certificates in category of voice communications, data transmission and fast Internet browsing.
