Precious Acknowledgement
EMH awarded „Tesla's Golden Egg“

In the competition Vidi e-novation, Ericsson Nikola Tesla won the prize “Tesla's Golden Egg” in the category of large companies for its product Ericsson Mobile Health. The product is aimed for remote patient medical monitoring. Boris Drilo MSc, the company director for ICT solutions for industry and society, took in the award.

Annual acknowledgements  by Vidi Awards, which cover Vidi e-novation award, „Prime Minister web award“ and the national acknowledgements  Vidi Web Top 100, were awarded  on Dec. 16, in the hotel Regent Esplanade in Zagreb. By taking in hand the acknowledgement, for the most innovative Hi-Tech product, Boris Drilo especially underlined that it was about medically certificated Croatian export product. He also explained possible improvements in functioning of the healthcare system that will be achieved with the high technology application.

One longer and two shorter panel discussions enriched the ceremony of handing in awards. Mislav Bago moderated the panel discussions in his characteristic style. The symbolic question on „Apart from olives, what will Croatia take in EU?“ was a challenge to laureates of Vidi e-novation, and many prominent economists, representatives of institutions and media houses were encouraged to give answer to it.

In the discussion on the given subject, it was pointed out that just Ericsson Mobile Health, the solution by Ericsson Nikola Tesla, being a novelty in a wide range of eHealth, and a product recognized in the world, was an important step forward, and a large potential for better functioning of the healthcare system.

It is important to say that this year, as many as three awards, were related to the medicine, thus witnessing the firm connection among high technologies and health as a universal human value.

But the real importance of all mentioned acknowledgements, was probably best confirmed with the statement by Gordana Kovačević, MSc, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, in the   corresponding book: “Vidi Awards is a project that in itself is an innovation in addressing just the most positive thing the Croatia – creative people and new ideas. Giving the opportunity to innovative people and by creating the room for promotion of their creative ideas, creates the interest of progressive Croatia that wishes to find its place in Europe through added value, leadership in technology, knowledge and development”
