Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar (EIHP) in Zagreb, organized a press conference to present the initiative titled E-mobility. It was about the promotion of electric vehicles that are considered the most efficient and ecologically sustainable individual means of transportation, especially if electric current is produced from recoverable energy sources. Ericsson Nikola Tesla is the participant in the initiative with the prototype of ICT solution for network management of electric vehicles power supply stations.

The given initiative was the basis for setting up a partnership among all relevant participants. Via Information portal, the initiative comes closer to the wide public the concept of E-Mobility.; its advantages, capabilities and challenges we are soon to meet. This will encourage the electric vehicles market development, and the supporting infrastructure in Croatia, as well. Besides the Institute, the participants in the initiative are: the city of Zagreb and the following companies: Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Toyota Hrvatska, Dalekovod and Dok-ing.

The audience was addressed by Goran Granić, DSc., the head of EIHP, who underlined the importance of considering the energetic strategy of Croatia. It will enable environment protection, economy development and make us to be, not only energy buyers but energy producers, as well. He pointed out the importance of using sustainable energy sources.

The above initiative was presented by its leader, Dino Novosel, EIHP specialists, who pointed out the motto: Towards CO2 neutralized traffic. He also mentioned the prominent world experiences in the given segment saying that London holds the leading position. He also informed that E-mobility issued the questionnaire  that will feedback standpoints and expectations of the public as the given concept of mobility in future is concerned. The results of research will be the basis for delivering a proposal of strategic guidelines for energy infrastructure development in the urban areas segment.

Renato Filjar DSc, in charge of the strategic portfolio development in the area of intelligent transport systems in Ericsson Nikola Tesla, expressed his pleasure that our company participates in the initiative. He stressed Ericsson leading role in smart information and communications solutions that make life easier, contribute to energy efficiency and have positive impact on the environment and in the intelligent technology solutions as well(ITS). Ericsson Nikola Tesla is among leaders in designing or Ericsson solutions in the given area and is an important factor in the corporation ITS strategy. He mentioned a variety of solutions and prototype from the given area in which Ericsson Nikola Tesla is the key player. It is about eCall, automatic notification on traffic accident, than maritime traffic control system in Rijeka harbor, traffic-information system prototype in Zagreb, as well as the prototype for ICT solution for network management of electric vehicles power supply stations.
