Ericsson Nikola Tesla Summer Camp Awarded Grand Prix

A golden index is an award established by the eStudent Asociation at the Zagreb University,  aimed for companies that contributed to the quality of studying, as well as supporting students to gain education that is more advanced and at the same time, to connect them to the world of business.  Ericsson Nikola Tesla applied for the award with the event Summer Camp 2010 and was awarded as big company in categories Practice and the Best image, as percepted by students. The company was also awarded Grand Prix, the most important award. The awards were handed to the Company representatives, DSc Saša Dešić, Research and Innovations manager in the R&D Center, DSc Darko Huljenić, Technology and Scientific Activities manager and Hrvoje Benčić, Director of Engagement Practice for Operators Segment.


Many factors influenced Ericssona Nikola Tesla Summer Camp being awarded and among them, it was the 11 year long tradition. So far, more than 300 students attended theoretical and practical workshops organized during the summer camps taking place during the past ten years. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) in Zagreb, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB) in Split assisted all the activities through all these years. Each summer camp lasted eight weeks, and the attendees were the best students of the final years at FER and FESB, who applied the gained knowledge to the development of the state-of-the art products and solutions, determined by the cooperation between faculties and Ericsson Nikola Tesla. Their works were a part of the development of a completely new ideas and projects within the scope of the research team in the company. The Summer Camp 2010 was organized under the title:  “To Apply Immediately: Advanced Solutions and Useful Demos “, and there were 39 students-attendees. All the camp attendees studied the selected problems related to active research and development projects in Ericsson Nikola Tesla, and worked on future proof applications.  The attendees get payment for their work, and the state-of-the art technology was available to all of them. The best research teams were awarded and the results of all workshops were promoted at the appropriate event that gathered numerous respectful guests and visitors.
