Ericsson Nikola Tesla awarded key diversity prize for general equality

Accepting diversity is the basic precondition to provide equality and egalitarianism for all. As of members of vulnerable groups, this question means the achievement of human rights. The Human Rights Office at the Croatian Government, in a partnership with the Organization for Assistance and Education of Mobbing Victims, and the Institute for Labor Market Development have initiated the project named Key Diversity in order to indentify and promote employers with positive practice in including diversity and providing equality in working environment. Such including the diversity of human resources within the Award, referred to encouragement of equality, such as: gender equality, age equality, disability equality, etc.

 

The prize awarding event took place on December 13, and Luka Mađerić, the head of the Human Rights Office underlined that this award showed that, in spite of the economic crisis, the Croatian work market must take care of the equality for all. 

 

The Key Diversity award for encouraging general equality in employment was awarded to Ericsson Nikola Tesla and handed in to the Company president Gordana Kovačević MSc, by  Ankica Paun Jarralah, the head of the Croatian Employment Service.

 

“We perceive the diversity as an advantage bringing additional value to our business operation. Our employees bring a wide range of competence, and different interests and personal ambitions. So, in reaching the company targets we endeavor to include their best accomplishments. When applying for the Key Diversity Award we wish to share with other companies our positive practice and experience”, said Gordana Kovačević, MSc, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

 

Snježana Bahtijari, the director of Marketing, Communications and Social Responsibility unit, presented to a large number of guests the fundamental company values, as well as programs for their successful realization. Along with our company, the prizes were awarded to Privredna banka Zagreb d.d. for encouraging the gender equality, Zvijezda d.d. for encouraging equality for disabled persons and Rivijera Adria d.d. for encouraging the age equality.
