Russian and Ukrainian journalists in Croatia show and interest in e/m-health

More than 20 Russian and Ukrainian journalists visited Croatia collecting materials relating to e/m-health. They visited our company and had an opportunity to meet prof. DSc Rajko Ostojić, the Minister of Healthcare,  DSc Siniša Varga, the head of CIHI and MSc Gordana Kovačević, ETK president with her management team.


A group of more than 20 Russian and Ukrainian journalists paid a four day visit to Croatia, collecting material relating to healthcare informatization process in Croatia. According to EuroHealth Consumer Index 2012 it was just the successful informatization of Croatian healthcare system that put our country up by 6 positions, so it jointed the group of countries, such as Germany, United Kingdom. During their stay in Croatia, the journalist visited Gospić and Zadar hospitals, where they learned about the functioning of the hospital information system (HIS). They were also presented the implementation of functions such as eBooking and eReferrals, which mean the first step of hospital integration into a Healthcare Networking Information System (HNIS). They paid a considerable attention for introduction of ePrescripiton, and had an opportunity to see the system in function by visiting a pharmacy in Zagreb. This convinced them of the benefits from the given services to all stakeholders such as patients, pharmacists and the system as a whole.


The journalists, coming from the most widely read media in Russia and Ukraine, were especially attracted by meeting the Minister of Halthcare of Croatia, prof. DSc Rajko Ostojić, and DSc Siniša Varga, the head of the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance (CIHI). The both talked on the current achievements in eHealth segment in Croatia, and on their action plans for future. Ericsson Nikola Tesla is not only the strategic partner of the Croatian Government as regards eHealth development, but is also the producer of EMH solution, which is aimed to remote patient health parameters monitoring, journalists had the opportunity to listen to expert presentations and to meet MSc Gordana Kovačević, Ericsson Nikola Tesla president, as well as to tour the company and learn more on its ITC solutions in the healthcare segment.  The Minister of Healthcare, the head of CIHI and Tihomir Šicel, director of sales and marketing for industry and society in Ericsson Nikola Tesla answered numerous questions of curious journalists.

Thus, in the nearest future the readers of eminent Russian and Ukrainian press and on-line media, as well the spectators of the Russia 24 channel, will learn more on services, which to a great extent already are a part of daily life in Croatia, and which they will probably also experience in future in their countries too.
