ETK Summer Camp Closed the Activities

The 12th generation of both female and male students, attendees of the International Ericsson Nikola Tesla Summer Camp, officially ended a program on Oct. 19. The program was especially prepared for them and aimed to solving of challenges in the current research and development projects.


The 12thgeneration of both female and male students, attendees of  the international Ericsson Nikola Tesla Summer Camp, ended the program especially prepared for them and aimed to solving real challenges of the actual research and development projects. The whole day activities titled “Challenges of the Networked Society” covered demo sessions, during which the visitors had an opportunity to talk to students and mentors about any of this year projects, technical presentations and the ceremony of closing the Camp.
 
Even 67 students worked, under the mentors’ supervision, on real research and development projects for 9 weeks. This was their preparation in practice for new challenges of the more and more demanding global labor market. 
 
The final part of the all-day activities was entrusted to Snježana Bahtijari, the company director of Marketing and communications, CSR included. On behalf of the academic society the professor Vesna Vašiček, DSc, the provost for the University of Zagreb performance, addressed the audience.


Dr.Sc Darko Huljenić, the head of cooperation with the academic society thanked the participants of this year Summer Camp, and presented the recognitions for successful cooperation to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of, Faculty of Engineering Sciences in Rijeka, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, the Faculty of electrical engineering of the University in Tuzla, to Algebra, the University College for Applied Computer Engineering in Zagreb and to Foundation for promoting the standard of pupils and students. On behalf of the awarded, words of thanks expressed professor Ignac Lovrek, DSc, from the Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, who was also a doyen of the Summer Camp and of the successful cooperation between the high education and economy
 
DSc. Saša Dešić, the Camp leader, especially underlined four projects that were presented in brief, by students. All the students were presented the earned certificates, and the winners in the competition, organized as a special social event within the Summer Camp, were presented adequate awards. Having in mind that such an innovative mode of cooperation and joint work of the best students from Croatia and neighboring countries, and the company specialists, became an inevitable part of Ericsson Nikola Tesla business culture, we are looking forward to the next Summer Camp in 2013. The preparations for it have already started.
